Home, Aged Care & Hospital Ministry

Upon request the parish priest will make home and/or hospital visits to offer the Ministry to the Sick including Holy Anointing and Holy Communion. If the person is in the final stages of their life, the ministry of Extreme Unction (anointing) and Viaticum (holy communion) is available at any time upon request. If urgent pastoral care is required in a hospital then please ask the nurse looking after the patient to contact the hospital pastoral care team for assistance.

Clothing

The parish is able to assist anyone in genuine need who require the basic clothing necessities, especially in winter. Please contact the parish priest who can refer you to a staff member of the opportunity shop.

Accommodation

St Bartholomew’s Close is small public housing estate. There are four single bedroom units available to people nominated by the parish to the Department of Housing. The public housing eligibility criteria is a requirement for entry. If you wish to place your name on the waiting list or if you would like to make an enquiry about the accommodation, please contact the parish priest for assistance.

If you are seeking spiritual guidance or direction, then please contact the parish priest to discuss what it is that you are seeking. The parish priest can also provide contacts for various networks of spiritual directors, retreat venues and Christian meditation groups.
